On 4/5/2004, Comrade Abdullah Al-Ahmar, Assistant Secretary-General, of Baath Arab Socialist Party received the secretariat-general of Arab parties conference headed by Dr. Ishak Al-Farhan the chief of the secretariat and attended by Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Saiyd the secretary-general and Mr. Safwan Al-kodsy the secretary-general of Arab socialist union party, a member of the national progressive front central leadership , and a member of the Arab parties secretariat-general.
The outcomes of the twentieth session of the Arab parties secretariat-general held in Damascus were discussed during the meeting. The session ended up in recommendations focused on the situation in the Palestinian and Iraqi lands, and the terrorist Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people . In addition to the occupation of Iraq and the results it reflects on the Iraqi people , the region and the hegemony and domination plan which targets the identity and wealth of the Arab land and what this situation requires such as : defining popular method to support the struggle against the occupation ,and restoring Arab rights and the ways that guarantee activating the mechanism of the governmental and Arab people work and the role of Arab parties to mobilize the nation potentials , consolidate her abilities in standing against dangers and confronting challenges that face the Arabs in order to protect their rights and stand up for them , but not relinquishing or neglecting them. Also working for restoring these rights and maintaining the Arab present and future.
The following were emphasized : supporting the steadfastness current , the resistance against the challenges and hostile plans to defeat them , end the occupation and aggression and achieve just and comprehensive peace which restores the rights and land to their owners and assures security, stability and prosperity in the region.
The chief and members of the secretariat-general of Arab parties conference expressed their appreciation of Syria positions by the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, and their gratitude to her for hosting the secretariat session pointing at the comprehensive and important speech given by President Bashar Al-Assad to Al-Jazirah channel and the frankness, clarity and bravery of this speech embodying the Arab masses aspiration and ambitions. They also stressed the Arab parties standing by Syria in her role to undermine the hostile plans and face the challenges which aim at the identity, existence and future of the Arab nation.
