On 23/6/2004, comrade Abdullah Al-Ahmar, the assistant secretary-general of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, discussed with Lousian Peterlan, head of the French-Arab Solidarity Society, the situation in the region and the consequences of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people as well as the massacres committed by the Israeli occupation forces against them.
The discussion also revolved around the situation in Iraq, the sufferance of his people due to the lack of security and stability and the repercussions of this situation on the region.
On his part Peterlan expressed the broad backing to Syria stands, led by His Excellency president Bashar Al-Assad, particularly among the European and French public opinion in general, especially in achieving just and comprehensive peace and solving the existing problems via and only through the United Nations.
