Assistant Secretary General of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Abdullah al-Ahmar met on 25.2.2006 Ibrahim Shekarau, the governor of Kano State. The two sides have exchanged friendly talks about the relations between Baath Arab Socialist Party and All Nigeria People's Ruling Party in Kano State.
Comrade al-Ahmar referred to the historical relations between Syria and Nigeria based on religion and culture assuring the necessity of developing these relations between the two friendly peoples and countries.
On his side, the governor of Kano State expressed the solidarity of the State's people with Syria against the challenges exposed to, as well as, his appreciation to the visit of the Syrian party delegation stressing his aptitude to enhance relations with Syria in all domains.
