A meeting was held in the headquarter of the regional leadership, headed by assistant regional secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party Muhammad Said Bkhitan, and comprised of the secretaries of the Party's branches, mayors, heads of the public organizations and vocational unions. The meeting tackled with the steps to be taken in the ninth round elections of the local administration.
Comrade Bkhitan assured during the meeting the importance of the local administration experience in enhancing and developing the system of the popular democracy, participating in the process of construction and development, as well as, defending the interests of the people and the homeland through an elected civil councils work on expanding the circle of participation in taking the decision, and seek for competences to carry the responsibilities.
The audience talked about the public participation in leading the country and the community through the elected constitutional institutions, and the local administration councils are part of them.
The members of the regional leadership of the Party and the minister of the local administration have attended the meeting.
