Political Statement Activities of the Sixth Regional Congress The Palestinian Baath Arab Socialist organization
The 6th R.C. of the BASP Palestinian Organization was convened in January 2007. It, discussed the organizational, political and financial reports presented by the previous Regional Leadership, seriously with comradely spirit and high responsibility, expressing the level of consciousness and awareness of the nation's reality, its way of salvation, and also expressed ideological commitment to the party's aims and political line that made the Palestinian cause the basis of the struggle for liberation, ending the aggression and restoring the full rights of the Arab Palestinian People. It paid attention to the problems of the Arab Palestinian people in the occupied Palestine (the West Bank and Gaza Stripe) and Diaspora.

The Congress expressed the faith and commitment of all comrades to our party's aims of Unity, Liberty and Socialism, and their full readiness to struggle hard to achieve them.

The Congress approved the presented reports after enriching them with condensed discussions, approved the recommendations and the suitable proposals and made a number of decisions that would improve party performance, national and international struggle of the comrades in Palestine to adhere to the Palestinian cause as a national cause whose support for ending the occupation, the recognition of legitimate rights of the Arab Palestinian people to self-determination, the creation of their independent state, with Jerusalem as its capital and the return of the Palestinian refugees to their home, is the responsibility of the entire nation.

The Congress emphasized the importance of collective popular unionist work as a permanent and continuous task of the Baathist comrade. It also stressed the importance of interaction with the Palestinian people in the occupied territories and Diaspora and working on resolving the Palestinian cause within the available potentials, in cooperation and coordination with all Palestinian, Islamic and national forces.

The Congress emphasized the importance of culture in our party and arena, and the importance of orienting the citizens and militants on national, pan-Arab and liberal causes and to adhere to the dimensions of the Palestinian cause:

1-The national dimension which is committed to the Palestinian National Charter, and the national Palestinian aims and principles.
2-The Arab dimension which supports and sustains our people cause and liberation struggle.
3-The Islamic dimension which supports Arab right, resistance and liberation of Palestine.
4-The world anti-Imperialist liberation forces dimension that oppose Imperialist plans and Zionist-Racism.

The Congress emphasized continued education and propagating national orientation in order to achieve Arab unity and solidarity, and activate boycotting the enemy and stressed the importance of common Arab work to enhance the nation's steadfastness in the face of American Imperialist and Israeli domination projects in the region.

The Congress appreciated Arab masses stands which support resistance, greeted the struggle and jihad of the Arab Palestinian people against the racist-Zionist invaders, and also greeted their sacrifices.

The Congress demanded that the Arab Nation, governments and peoples keep the Palestinian cause atop of their agenda and consider it their central cause in order to achieve victory over the Zionist enemy and liberate the whole Palestine and all other occupied Arab territories (the Golan and Shbaa Farms).

The Congress demanded that all forces of Arab nation mobilize their potentials and capabilities and put them under the disposal of the steadfastness & resistance forces, first of all, Syria, under the leadership of President Bashar Al-Assad, because Syria is the invulnerable bastion which firmly and valiantly confronts the Zionist invaders, the American-Zionist Imperialist plan which want to protect Israel and fragmentize the Arab Nation, end its Arab identity, loot its resources, propagate chaos, killing and destruction among its forces and citizens by spreading sectarian and ethnic sedition.

The Congress highly appreciated Syria principled stands based on steadfastness and resistance, and her support to Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq, and her continued call for achieving the Palestinian nation unity, ban the Palestinian internal fight, and to adopt dialogue as a basic means for solving problems and differences, and to also adopt partnership in all national struggle activities and assert the unity of Iraq territories and people.

The Congress drew the attention to the fact that this stage is a stage of national struggle and the settlements horizon is blocked because of the West, specially the US, siding with the enemy, and because of the weakness and split in the official Arab regime and the betting of some people on the American role, and making concessions to the Zionist enemy and establishing relations with it, and because of the American occupation in Iraq, threatening the Arab national security, spreading chaos and sectarian and ethnic sedition and presenting false illusive slogans, such as "war on terrorism" and the so-called "New Middle East", and considering the militants as terrorists, and exporting canned democracy and posing itself as a world policeman in order to dominate the world, starting from our Arab region, and adopting force globalization, and punishing the regimes, states, peoples, forces and parties who reject its imperialist plans by enacting unjust laws and its controlling the UN and paralyzing its bodies and misleading the international community into believing that the national and liberation forces are violating international laws and human rights.

The Congress emphasized that the Arab and Islamic national and liberation forces have no other way but to continue the liberation struggle until they kick out the Zionist and American invaders and confront and abort all their plans of sedition and disruption in order to enable the Zionist invaders continue their settlist occupation. The Arab national and liberation forces will then achieve the full liberation of Palestine, Iraq and the remaining occupied lands in South Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Golan until the 4th of June 1967 lines by following all forms of resistance on the basis of the national unity and building spontaneous force in all fields.

Achieving all these was considered a way for the region stability, security and peace. This peace contradicts occupation and can not be achieved unless it is just and comprehensive and gives the rights to those who really own them.

The Congress discussed the Palestinian internal situation and the split taking place on our arena because of betting on America and the so-called internationalist and Arab legitimacy and because of the given concessions which have not ceased until now, and the weakness of the liberative Arab Islamic and international depth and the signing, by a powerful Palestinian party (in the PLO) of Oslo Agreement and its Appendices which resulted in negative impacts on the resistance, the national unity and the PLO and its Charter, specially after establishing the authority of the self-administrative rule, and also the organizational fanaticism of some detachments and competition for authority under the occupation.

The Congress also discussed the new situation after Hamas success in the legislative council as a result of democratic elections, the formation of the authority government and the imposition of the American-Israeli embargo because of this option expressed the Palestinian people and the failure of the Arab governments in ending it. In this regard, the Congress decided the following:

1- Rejecting the security looseness and internal fight, and tabooing Palestinian blood.
2- Prompt act for lifting all forms of the embargo, economically, financially, politically and security form, and to find means that guarantee the improvement of our people conditions in all fields.
3- Resorting always to dialogue for solving all the problems of the West Bank and Gaza Stripe.
4- Adopting the partnership principle in all forms of national work inside and outside Palestine, and in respect of the West Bank and Gaza Stripe, to depend on all-out national dialogue principle for forming a national unity government.
5- Not to undermine, by whatever party, the resistance option, politically and informationally.
6- To adhere to the right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties and confront those who want to drop or cancel this right.
7- The Congress proudly and admirably appreciated the struggles and sacrifices of our people in Palestine, specially the lands occupied in 1948 and our people in the Golan who are adhering to their national belonging and identity, and greeted their patience, determination and love of their homeland soil.

The Congress greeted all prisoners and detainees in the Zionist enemy jails and all martyrs and their mothers, families and relatives.
The Congress greeted the Lebanese people and the triumph of the Lebanese national and Islamic resistance, led by Hizb Allah, in the war of July 2006, when they achieved their legendary steadfastness, under the leadership of His Eminence, the Mujahed Said Hasan Nasr Allah, the most magnificent triumph over the enemy army aggression, backed by America and its huge war machine.
The Congress greeted all the victories over the Zionist enemy and its imperialist protectors that were achieved in the October war of liberation in 1973 and the kicking out the enemy from South Lebanon by the national and Islamic resistance in 2000.

The Congress also greeted all our steadfast Arab Syria, leadership, people, the masses of the Arab Nation and the Arab Palestinian people to continue the struggle until achieving the objectives of the party and the Arab Nation: Unity, Liberty and Socialism.

The Congress elected a Central Committee which, in turn, elected a regional leadership.
